We’re looking for a skilled Transport Scheduler to join our Master Timetable team. In this role, you’ll be designing and scheduling tram services that keep the network running at its best.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Design and improve tram timetables, ensuring services meet the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) specifications
  • Build safe, efficient and cost-effective schedules for vehicles, crews and rosters
  • Undertake quality analysis of timetables and schedules, ensuring compliance with safety, industrial and operational requirements
  • Allocate vehicles by class to optimise capacity, accessibility and passenger demand
  • Analyse service changes, proposals and feedback, recommending improvements
  • Work closely with depots, roster committees and the broader Operations department to find practical solutions

 

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or at least 2 years’ experience in public transport planning, scheduling or a related field
  • Knowledge of rostering and scheduling systems (e.g. Hastus) and an understanding of how public transport networks operate
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to interpret agreements and regulations (e.g. Enterprise Agreement, fatigue guidelines, OHS)
  • A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; with the ability to work methodically or with flexibility
