System and Strategy Manager

About the Role
As our System and Strategy Manager, you’ll lead the way in shaping how we manage and improve our infrastructure systems. You’ll bring strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to ensure our asset management systems are robust, compliant, and future-ready. This role is key to delivering insights that support safe, reliable, and efficient tram operations across Melbourne.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the development and implementation of asset management strategies and systems.
- Oversee the integration of diagnostic and analytics tools, including Rail Xplore Substation Analyzer.
- Ensure compliance with Infrastructure Technical Maintenance Plans and regulatory obligations.
- Manage reporting processes including Monthly Infrastructure Reports and Annual Works Plans.
- Support root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement in substation and network reliability.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align asset strategies with operational goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the infrastructure systems team.
- Contribute to risk assessments and investment planning for infrastructure renewal programs.
- Maintain data integrity across asset databases and GIS platforms.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
- Certifications in infrastructure systems, data analytics, or project management (preferred).
- A valid driver’s licence (if required for site access).
Your Experience
- Extensive experience in infrastructure asset management and strategic systems planning.
- Proven ability to implement and manage platforms such as Smartsheet, Maximo, Power BI, and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of substation operations, fault diagnostics, and maintenance planning.
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and leading cross-functional teams.
