Sourcing and Contract Advisor

Yarra Journey Makers focus on delivering safe, reliable, clean, and easy-to-use services as the operator of the world’s largest tram network in Melbourne.

We are transforming procurement at Yarra Journey Makers and seeking motivating individuals who are ready to join us in creating value for our customers, suppliers and business.  The sourcing and contracts specialist plays a critical role across the enterprise in developing strategies to manage risk, driving better commercial outcomes and continuous improvement through strong relationships with our suppliers. 

 

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

 

  • Develop and lead sourcing strategies and commercial negotiations with critical suppliers to deliver improved project and operational outcomes
  • Partner with key YJM stakeholders to plan priorities, build trust and influence
  • Maintain effective relationships across our supplier ecosystem and drive collaboration to ensure performance and compliance
  • Leveraging data and analytics to drive commercial value and identify optimisation opportunities and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Support the execution of procurement strategy and enablement initiatives across the functional, applying Lean, Agile and Human-Centred design
  • Deliver, track and report on progress of key priorities ensuring that they meet desired outcomes and timelines

 

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

 

 

  • Ability to apply analytics to enhance efficiency and improve performance to eliminate bottlenecks and align procurement to organisational goals
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated problem-solving mindset to identify opportunities and drive meaningful change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Interest and appetite to taking on new challenges, navigating complexity and contributing to the improvement of our business
  • Tertiary qualifications preferably in commerce, supply chain, law, business or related fields
