Safety Coordinator - NGT

About this opportunity

 

The Victorian Government is investing $1.85 billion in 100 Next Generation Trams (NGT) and a new Tram Maintenance and Stabling Facility in Maidstone in Melbourne’s west. Yarra Trams requires a Safety Coordinator to support the introduction of the Next Generation Tram (NGT) on a 12 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Safety and Accreditation Manager MGT this role involves:

 

  • Supporting the development of YT Safety Cases.
  • Liaising with the broader project team to gather evidence for the YT Safety Cases.
  • Liaising with the broader project team to close out open items with ONRSR and the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA)
  • Supporting risk assessments
  • Managing and updating risk registers
  • Updating the safety-related items Operational Readiness Requirements (ORR)
  • Interfacing with document control for preparation of YT Safety Cases
  • Supporting the Hazard Transfer process

 

About you

 

Ideally you will have:

 

  • Bachelor (or higher) qualification in Engineering, Health and Safety, Science or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in the railways industry (preferably rolling stock, signalling or operational integration for an operator)
  • Experience and involvement in risk assessments
  • Experience working in a rolling stock delivery / introduction project
  • Experience in engineering safety management / safety assurance
