Project Manager- Rolling Stock Projects

About this opportunity
Yarra Trams requires a Project Manager to support successful planning, execution, and delivery of rolling stock projects. Reporting to the Program Manager, Rolling Stock Projects and based at East Preston depot this role will be accountable for:
- The successful planning, execution, and delivery of rolling stock projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- leading cross-functional teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing risks to ensure project objectives align with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Leading the mobilisation of a rolling stock remediation production line for major life extension scope
- Driving operational efficiency, safety, and quality while ensuring the seamless integration of rolling stock assets into service.
- Ensuring engineering activities are undertaken in line with the Engineering Management system
- Installing Safety as your number one priority
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Project Management Qualifications / and or Engineering degree or similar
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
- Must hold current Victorian Driver’s license
- First Aid certification (desirable)
- Construction White card (desirable)
- Knowledge of Project management methodology (i.e. Prince2 or PMBOK)
- Knowledge of the Victorian Rail Safety requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Rolling Stock heavy maintenance operations
- Experience in project delivery and managing projects for heavy rail or light rail rolling stock (major overhauls)
- Ability to implement Lean Management principles in the delivery of the project (5S, visual management…)
- Operational Excellency and continuous improvement
- Ability to implement and manage quality processes
- Sound knowledge in Risk management
- Proven success in meeting demanding budgetary and workforce productivity targets
- Excellent skills in project planning and scheduling. Able to develop work breakdown structures and decomposition
- Adequately cost a project and understand the different levels of accuracy as proceeding along the project lifecycle
