Production Manager- Rolling Stock Projects

Our Rolling Stock team maintains our fleet of trams and we’re now on the lookout for a new Production Manager to join the team, based at our East Preston Depot.  This role takes carriage of the production, installation and quality assurance of our maintenance and life extension programs, whilst ensuring safety and compliance of our workshop personnel, contractors and suppliers.


About the role:

Reporting into our Rolling Stock Project Manager, this role will:

  • Ensure delivery of Rolling Stock projects within timeframe, budget & quality metrics
  • Take the lead in planning, implementing and process control for tram modifications
  • Partnering with the Project Manager to develop and implement a Master Production Schedule, including timely progress reporting
  • Work with suppliers to ensure performance metrics are met and any defects documented and escalated appropriately
  • Developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, process instructions, bill of materials and SOP’s to ensure a best practice approach
  • Championing safe work practices for staff and contractors on-site

 

About You:

This role will suit an individual coming from a Rolling Stock, Heavy Maintenance or Engineering background who is brings:

  • At least 5 years manufacturing and operations experience
  • A strong process documentation background
  • Maintenance planning & scheduling experience
  • Project delivery experience with the ability to influence core internal and external stakeholders
  • Safety and risk background, able to develop and lead JSEAs or SWMS workshops
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering or an equivalent Trades background
