Officer, Training and Assessment

Role Purpose

About this opportunity

 

We are looking for an experienced Training and Assessment Officer to deliver Passenger Experience training packages, including Authorised Officer and CSE inductions, development days and other passenger experience training and assessment requirements. Reporting to the Advisor, Development, Passenger Experience, a typical week in this role involves:

 

  • Providing quality training and assessment to ensure that employees develop and maintain required competencies and knowledge according to role requirements 
  • Provide information, reporting and advice on operational issues, to assist in the development of effective training packages that ensure the transfer of technical skills and competencies to employees 
  • Assist with the evaluation/audit of training and assessment services to ensure compliance, best practice training and adult learning principles, training policies and procedures, and industry standards, and relevant legislation and regulations. 
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials and manuals, ensuring compliance with endorsed standards 
  • Maintain Training and Assessment documentation, in accordance with appropriate records management systems and procedures and legislative requirements 
  • Complying with Workplace Health and Safety policy and practices and contribute to the identification and control of occupational health and safety risks and/or hazards in the workplace 

 

About you

 

Ideally you will have:

 

  • Certificate IV in training and assessment (TAA or TAE) (or be willing to obtain)
  • A Certificate III in Public Transport Customer Service and Compliance (or be willing to obtain)
  • Knowledge of the Transport Act, and occupational health & safety practices and policies
  • Knowledge and understanding of training needs analysis and evaluation processes
  • Sound understanding and application of adult learning principles
  • Sound training, coaching and assessor skills
  • Highly developed conflict resolution skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Competence in the use of PC’s, Microsoft Office and other role specific software packages
