Manager, Quality Systems

Role Purpose

 

 

At Yarra Trams, our mission is to deliver world-class transport services to our passengers. In this role, you will contribute to this goal by:

  • Overseeing the Quality Management System and its implementation through maintaining and continuously improving the QMS in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Developing and leading the implementation of the integrated audit program including internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances.
  • Developing strategies and providing authoritative advice and practical expertise to senior management on policies, audits, compliance, continuous improvement, independent safety assessments, operational and reporting requirements, and project safety assurance as required.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to the Director, Risk and Quality and other senior managers on rail safety management and its associated compliance obligations, for the governance of Yarra Trams’ safety management system
  • Ensure the ongoing compliance of Yarra Trams’ light rail network with the requirements of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards
  • Managing actions to address any identified issues and/or gaps in Yarra Trams’ SMS and its operational systems and procedures
  • Prepare and submit the Continuous Improvement report based on the MR5 Franchise Agreement commitments
  • Accountable for governance and reporting activities relating to health and safety, ensuring compliance and timely submission of reports
  • Pro-actively building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders.

 

 

Skills/Experience

 

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management, Business or equivalent.
  • Qualification in Auditing (essential)
  • Significant experience in:
    • Drafting, implementing, monitoring and reviewing safety management systems
    • Interpretation and application of the Rail Safety National Law and other legislative instruments
    • Field of continual improvement of safety management systems in a rail environment
    • Planning and conducting safety audits and inspections
    • Risk management within a rail environment
