Head of Security and Business Resilience

To strengthen our Safety & Security leadership team, we’re seeking expressions of interest for our newly created Head of Security and Business Resilience position.  In this role, you’ll be accountable for the broad leadership, governance and continuous improvement of our Security Management System, Business Resilience Framework, Security Intelligence and Emergency Management capability.  This is the perfect opportunity for you to take the next step in your career here at Yarra Trams.

 


About the role:

 

Reporting into our Director, Safety & Security, this role will:

 

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Yarra Trams’ Security Management System, Business Resilience Framework, Security Intelligence and supporting governance arrangements.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Director, Safety & Security, Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with the Rail Safety National Law, Emergency Management Amendment (Critical Infrastructure Resilience) Act, franchise obligations and other applicable legislative and regulatory requirements

  • Lead enterprise-wide security, crisis management, emergency management and business continuity programs to protect passengers, employees, infrastructure, information, assets and operations, including liaising with external partner organisations

  • Manage a small team of direct reports, including the broader Network Security division.

 

 

About You: 

 

This role will suit an individual with a strong background in Security, ideally backed up with a relevant tertiary qualification in Security Management, Risk Management, Emergency Management or related discipline.  In addition, we’re also looking for you to bring:

 

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise security, business resilience, emergency management or crisis management functions within a large and complex organisation

  • Demonstrated success influencing executive leaders and driving strategic organisational outcomes

  • Strong understanding of critical infrastructure protection and organisational resilience principles

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing professionals

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing

  • Strong continuous improvement focus, including enabling teams to provide appropriate data analysis and insights to support field work and executive visibility
