Head of Rolling Stock Heavy Maintenance
About this opportunity
Yarra Trams requires a Head of Head of Rolling Stock Heavy Maintenance to lead the delivery of Rolling Stock heavy maintenance at Preston Workshops, delivering Rolling Stock Overhauls (RSO) and other corrective/ reactive maintenance requirements across the site ensuring all contractual, legislative and business requirements are met.
Reporting to the Chief Rolling Stock Officer this role involves:
- Leading the work delivery of all Rolling Stock works (maintenance, programs, overhauls) across Preston Workshops
- Leading the Rolling Stock delivery workforce instilling a culture of Safety First, Performance and Accountability with living the values of Yarra Trams
- Management and delivery of effective / efficient maintenance, programs and projects ensuring all Rolling Stock operational, contractual, legislative and business requirements are met
- Ensuring that the resources, systems, processes and plans are in place to effectively deliver all Rolling Stock works
- Leading and managing internal and external stakeholder’s requirements such as tram availability to meet Yarra Trams KPI’s and Project/Programs deliverables
- Managing effective industrial relationships, whilst ensuring compliance with enterprise agreements
- Providing expert and timely advise to the Chief Rolling Stock Officer on Work Performance issues, risks and opportunities.
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Qualifications in a relevant business or technical discipline and / or proven experience in leading and managing a large multi-functional workforce in a maintenance, service delivery, project or production environment comprising of office and field-based staff
- Experience in leading and managing multi-functional workforce
- Ability to coordinate and work with planning, engineering and project/program teams, delivering on respective works and as per the respective requirements
- Detailed knowledge of workforce planning, rosters, EBA, planning, engineering, assets, reporting, documentation, safety, quality and training systems
- Extensive experience in workforce management and performance improvement initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationships skills to manage expectations effectively with staff, unions, internal functions (such as operations, assets), DTP (department of transport and planning), Regulatory bodies (ONRSR, WorkSafe, EPA, ESV)
- Good understanding of the relevant acts, regulations and standards that impact upon a maintenance/delivery program including OH&S, Rail Safety Regulations and Environment
