Environmental & Sustainability Reporting Advisor

About this opportunity 

 

Yarra Trams requires an Environment & Sustainability Reporting Advisor to play a critical role in coordinating the preparation, analysis and delivery of environment and sustainability reporting for Yarra Trams, including our first climate-related financial disclosure. Reporting to the Environment Manager, in this role you will: 

 

  • Coordinate the preparation, analysis and delivery of environment and sustainability reporting for Yarra Trams, including climate-related financial disclosures (in accordance with ASRS AASB-S2), National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting Scheme (NGERs) and Financial Reporting Directions (FRD). 

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across governance, strategy, risk, procurement, and other areas to support the delivery of environment and sustainability reporting, including areas requiring uplift.  

  • Support the coordination and management of external audits of the Yarra Trams disclosures (NGERs, climate related financial disclosures), including provision of requested information and resolution of any audit issues.  

  • Use data driven analysis to inform environment, sustainability and climate-related strategy and decision making.  

  • Recommend and implement solutions to uplift collection, analysis and reporting of environment, sustainability and climate-related data, such as Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 GHG emissions.  

  • Provide support and assistance to the Environment and Sustainability team as required. 

 

About you 

 

Ideally you will have: 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Sustainability, Science, Engineering, or related discipline. 

  • Proven experience in a corporate sustainability or consulting role, including sustainability and regulatory reporting 

  • Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, in particular an understanding of mandatory climate related disclosure standards 

  • Strong project management and organisational skills 

  • Ability to support efforts to streamline, align and optimise environment and sustainability data collection and reporting in line with best practice standards and reporting requirements. 

  • Experienced user of data analytics and visualisation tools such as PowerBI
