Business Process Analyst

Role purpose

 

Join a cross-functional team to simplify and optimise business processes at Yarra Trams. You'll help shape the future state operating model and lead the transition from current practices to smarter, more efficient ways of working across a range of interesting and complex domains.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Business Process Improvement

 

  • Lead requirements gathering and process mapping
  • Analyse gaps between current and future systems
  • Facilitate workshops to support business change
  • Collaborate with CX and design teams on human-centred solutions
  • Support transition planning and implementation
  • Partner with SMEs to design practical solutions
  • Apply strategic thinking to process improvement

Systems & Data Analysis

 

  • Review and document complex business processes
  • Identify opportunities for system and data improvements
  • Analyse policies and procedures to extract key insights

Stakeholder Engagement

 

  • Assess change impacts across teams and roles
  • Support change leads with planning and delivery
  • Communicate clearly across technical and business groups
  • Translate business needs into tailored processes
  • Facilitate workshops and build strong relationships
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders effectively
  • Collaborate with IT teams to assess change complexity

 

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Identify issues as they arise, evaluate options and provide recommendations for solutions.
  • Experience in business process redesign, requirements gathering in an operational business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff to convey complex ideas both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work, both on an individual basis, within set timelines and in an environment of change and conflicting demands.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision once tasks are allocated and understood.
  • Ability to solve problems through discussion, negotiation and teamwork.
  • Must know at least one industry standard business process mapping methodology.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or information technology.
  • Experience in project management and/or service design will be highly advantageous.
