About the role

We are seeking an Advisor, Rolling Stock Training to play a key role in ensuring our Rolling Stock workforce is competent, compliant and future‑ready.

Reporting to the Manager, Rolling Stock Training, you will advise on, coordinate and continuously improve training programs for safety‑critical rolling stock roles. This role is ideal for a training professional who thrives in a regulated, operational environment and enjoys working closely with front‑line teams, leaders and external partners.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop and coordinate rolling stock training programs (in‑house and outsourced)
  • Develop and manage annual training plans aligned to operational and legislative requirements
  • Conduct training needs analysis and identify skills and capability gaps
  • Provide expert advice on training risks, issues and improvement opportunities
  • Select and implement effective learning methods, including simulations, mentoring and on‑the‑job training
  • Monitor training effectiveness and measure impact on performance and KPIs
  • Maintain accurate training and competency records within the Learning Management System
  • Liaise with operational leaders, subject matter experts, RTOs and external providers
  • Support audits, investigations and corrective actions where training gaps are identified
  • Drive continuous improvement in training systems, processes and data reporting

Qualifications & experience

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE/TAA) or willingness to obtain
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant business or technical discipline (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating training programs in transport, rail, logistics, bus or heavy vehicle environments
  • Experience working in highly regulated, safety‑critical industries
  • Proven ability to schedule and coordinate training across shift‑based operations
  • Strong experience maintaining training records, competency matrices and LMS data
  • Experience working with audits, compliance frameworks and regulatory reporting
  • Sound understanding of adult learning principles and competency‑based training
