Advisor, Operational Performance Improvement

About this opportunity

 

Yarra Trams requires an Advisor, Operational Performance Improvement that will provide expert input regarding tram punctuality, and reliability so as to assist in the continuous improvement of the delivery of tram services to Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Operational Performance this role will:

 

  • Create and champion a new Centre of Knowledge for performance improvement (tram services punctuality and reliability), providing expert advice across Yarra Trams to assist the business with continuous improvement
  • Managing the development and delivery of the Annual Performance Improvement Plan (APIP) with a continuous improvement lens
  • Analysing tram performance data to identify opportunities for operational improvements across the different functions
  • Working cross-functionally and at all levels of the business and with stakeholders to support the realisation of benefits of different initiatives.
  • Using data-based insights to identify and quantify benefits and prioritise resources across different initiatives
  • Working with Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to identify opportunities for improvement of passenger journeys
  • Being a key resource for the executive team to understand and drive operational performance outcomes

 

 

About you

 

Ideally you will have:

 

  • Degree in Engineering or Project Management-related discipline
  • Certifications in Project Management desirable
  • Demonstrated success in leading and delivering projects aimed at uplifting performance  within complex, cross-functional environments
  • Strong project management expertise, with a track record of delivering technically complex initiatives safely, on time, to a high standard, and within budget
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate across all levels of the organisation to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Solid understanding of the full project lifecycle and principles of continuous improvement.
  • Advanced report writing skills, with the ability to communicate insights and recommendations clearly
  • Knowledge of business development fundamentals and how contracts, operations, and commercial outcomes interrelate
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, quality assurance and risk management practices.
  • Self-awareness of personal working style, with a history of setting, tracking, and achieving project goals
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the confidence to lead and embrace change in dynamic environments, while empowering others to achieve project outcomes
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally
