Advisor, Business Analysis

Role Purpose

 

At Yarra Trams, we are committed to delivering world-class transport services to our passengers. In this role, you will support that commitment by providing business analysis and technical writing services across various projects delivered by the Operational Control & Management Systems (OCMS) team. Your responsibilities will include the development of key project delivery documentation, such as business requirements (functional and non-functional), use cases, business process maps (As-is and To-be), test plans and test cases, and user manuals.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

•Providing hands-on business analysis work to agile and waterfall projects.

•Leading functional and non-functional requirements elicitation, analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements and business rules are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous and verifiable.

•Facilitating information gathering for solution design and gaining review and approval of the design documentation in coordination with the solution architecture team.

•Reviewing functional and technical requirements with vendors and development teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and can be successfully delivered.

•Planning and executing system testing and integration testing in conjunction with business SMEs and OCMS BAU teams.

•Producing/updating new/existing documents as required including, but not limited to, business requirements, traceability matrices, business cases and test cases as well as processes and procedures.

 

 

Experience & knowledge

 

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:

 

•Proven experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, business case development and testing.

•Understanding and experience of business analysis and SDLC methodologies.

•Strong written and verbal communications skills to ensure effective communication with all levels of the business, including the ability to convey complex information clearly and influentially.

•Exposure to various project management frameworks including Agile, Waterfall etc.

•Demonstrable investigative and research skills and well developed conceptual and analytical skills.

•Proven customer engagement skills, including the ability to pro-actively resolve issues and increase customer satisfaction.

•Experience in data analysis for the purpose of understanding business problems and introducing suitable solutions.

 

 

Qualifications 

 

•Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and/or significant proven experience, relevant to this discipline.

•BABOK certified (desirable)
