To deliver on these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced Data and Information manager to oversee the establishment and implementation of Yarra Trams’ Data and Information Management Plan.

What the role entails
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Data and Information Manager to improve ongoing governance and practice of Yarra Trams data and information assets.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategy & Relationships, the role involves: 

  • Implementing the Data and Information Management Plan (DIMP) and preparing and managing amendments to the DIMP;
  • Developing and implementing the data governance framework which includes policy, standard, procedures and guidelines;
  • Executing maturity assessment and audit activities to maintain compliance and improve data and information management;
  • Coordination of communications, change management and continuous improvement relating to data and information management; 
  • Assessing knowledge gaps across Yarra Trams and developing training to improve data and information management governance and practice.

What you will need for this role
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and / or experience;
  • 2 years previous experience in similar position (Information Manager/ Data Governance/ Data Architecture/Data Analytics); 
  • Experience working across businesses and technical, operational and business functions to manage governance and practice;
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and change to improved capability maturity against standards such as DMBOK;
  • Experience in developing or implementing new policies, governance frameworks and consultative mechanisms relating to information and data management and/or technology;
  • Knowledge of information security as it applies to the classification and treatment of data and information;
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to liaise with and influence a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to provide expert advice and influence others in a complex multidisciplinary team environment undergoing significant change Project management skills.
