Tram Maintainer - RS Projects & Condition Works

Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced and suitably qualified Electrician / Mechanical Fitter to complete activities related to our Tram Condition Works Project.

This position is a great opportunity for a trade qualified and experienced Electrician / Mechanical Fitter to actively assist our Condition Works Team in ensuring our Rolling Stock Projects are completed to agreed standards.

 

Responsibilities


Reporting to the Team Manager, testing & Commissioning, the roles involve: 

  • Performing Electrical / Mechanical tasks as allocated by the supervisor.
  • Identifying non base trade related faults during inspection activities and advising the supervisor. 
  • Documenting and signing off all tasks performed in accordance with Yarra Trams processes.
  • Providing advice on trade related issues as required.

 

What you will need for this role 


To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

  • Completed an apprenticeship as an Electrician or Mechanical Fitter trade.
  • Experience working in heavy project-based industries an advantage.
  • Availability to work on a 7 day per week rotating roster, including day, afternoon, night, weekend and public holiday shifts.
  • Experience in providing technical advice (Knowledge sharing) to other tradesmen.
  • Experience overseeing the work of junior Staff (including apprentices).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • An awareness and understanding of the OH&S and environmental risks that pertain to this role.
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Previous experience in a similar rolling stock maintenance environment is advantageous.
