Manager, Training, Reporting & Admin
About this opportunity
We are looking for a leader to manage Rolling Stock training, reporting, quality and administration requirements ensuring all contractual, legislative and business requirements are met.
Reporting to the Manager, Rolling Stock Support Services a typical week in this role involves:
- Lead the development and implementation of a training strategy for the Rolling Stock directorate that is reviewed monthly with key business stakeholders, reviewing Rolling Stock capability and gap analysis.
- Ensure staff and contractors are fully compliant and trained as per the mandatory works training requirements.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to staff to ensure quality of service delivery.
- Ensure compliance and adherence with Yarra Trams policies and values.
- Demonstrated values-based behaviour.
- Ensure all contractual and business reporting obligations are met.
- Provide expert and timely advice to the Manager, Support Services on training, reporting and administrative issues, along with the identification of risks and opportunities.
- Develop training content (with SME input), resources, session plans and delivery strategy for all Rolling Stock training packages.
- Source and procure external training solutions, as required.
- Collect and analyse training feedback, allowing for continuous improvement processes, and adaptation to existing materials and processes.
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Possess tertiary/degree qualifications in a relevant business or technical discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable).
- Extensive experience in managing a training department and/or function.
- Detailed knowledge of reporting, documentation, and training systems (learning management system).
- Extensive experience in stakeholder management across multiple functions and implementation of training programs.
- Good understanding of the relevant Acts, regulations and standards that impact upon a maintenance/delivery program including OH&S, Rail Safety Regulations and Environment.
- Awareness and commitment to quality and risk management concepts.
- Sound understanding of the company management and correspondence systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of training requirements in a Rolling Stock and/or engineering environment.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Victorian Rail Safety accreditation processes and requirements, Transport Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Experience in the use of data recording and training record keeping practices and software.
- Knowledge of training software packages and their operation, and understanding of computer-based learning and e-learning methodologies.
- Experience in working with subject-matter-experts or content specialists to plan and design the structure of a course to achieve learning objectives with a client-focused approach.
- Understanding of the principles of continuous improvement as applied in a training environment - identify, standardise, simplify, and formalise.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and ability to perform well and maintain composure under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and implement updates to quality training course materials, assessment tools, and supporting procedural materials.
