Case Manager, Workcover

Role Purpose

 


At Yarra Trams we aim to provide our passengers with world-class transport services. The Injury Management Team is seeking to recruit a professional case manager to provide administrative support to the Injury Management team, prepare return to work programs and work with Manager, Medicals & Rehabilitation to develop strategies on proactive management of claims.

 


Responsibilities

 

  • Manage end-to-end WorkCover claims, including lodgement, documentation, invoice processing, and wage reimbursements in Quickclaim.
  • Coordinate return-to-work plans in collaboration with injured employees, managers, unions, and medical providers.
  • Act as liaison between stakeholders such as insurers, legal teams, WorkSafe, investigators, and rehabilitation providers.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, including first 10-day updates and regular performance reports.
  • Oversee purchase orders and ensure timely processing of WorkCover-related invoices with Payroll and Accounts Payable.
  • Support training development and delivery for injury and medical management activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Injury Management and broader Safety team, including meeting coordination.

 


Skills

 

  • Proficient in Elumina, Quickclaim, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective case management aligned with Just and Fair Culture principles.
  • Skilled in facilitating return-to-work discussions and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving, planning, and administrative abilities.
  • Awareness of financial implications related to workers’ compensation and premium management.
  • RTW Coordinator qualifications preferred.

 


Experience & knowledge

 

  • Solid understanding of the WIRC Act and WorkCover legislation.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end WorkCover claims and entitlement management.
  • Skilled in early intervention and personalised case management strategies.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with professionalism and timely resolution.
  • Familiarity with claims milestones, including entitlement calculations and processing.
  • Strong drive to apply relevant qualifications or customer-focused experience in injury management.
  • Knowledge of tram classes is an advantage, but not essential.
